IntelliMedia Research Assistantship

I began my time with The IntelliMedia Group in January 2022 and have since had the opportunity to work as part of the Art Team on several different educational games. Since starting as a Research Assistant, I’ve created various 3D props that were imported and used in a browser-based game, helped to revamp 3D character and 3D environment designs, animated several 3D characters, and worked most extensively on two animated explainer videos. I’ve included the work below as well as my specific role and process for each set of assignments.

HealthQuest Science Career Explainer Videos

My favorite assignments during my time with IntelliMedia were the following explainer videos. They are a part of the HealthQuest game and serve to provide information about various health science career paths that players may not have previously known about. The videos have gone through several iterations and I’ve included the final versions below. I created the visuals for both, sourced the background music, and did the final animations as well.

InfuseCS 3D Game Props

These are several low-poly props that I had the opportunity to model based on provided 2D imagery. They were intended to provide a layer of character for the InfuseCS game environment. They were created using Maya and textured using the ramp technique. I used a provided texture sheet and organized the props’ UV maps on that texture sheet to color them. The props were then exported and imported into the Unity game file.

Inspire Character Design and Story Visualization

This position has provided me numerous opportunities to hone my conceptualization skills. One of the most extensive opportunities was for the Inspire choice-based computer game. This game centers on a teenage character and is meant to provide students the opportunity to make game choices that should align with their specified morals. I helped the art team develop planned shots for Episode 2 of the game and I’ve included those beatboards below. I also worked on a few character designs and revamps and those sketches are also included below.
